The story behind Bertha

I started this business out of a love for two things: people and great conversations, especially when they coincide with eating and drinking. After eleven years of being involved in memorable events while working for another catering company, I noticed a huge need for a mobile bar service in Nevada County, so I took the leap to open Tumbleweed Tavern! Bertha was an idea I had dreamed up with my Husband (and best friend). We found an old horse trailer and transformed her into the beauty you see today. Soon after I realized how much I missed catering and how much I love making others smile through food as well, I realized that these passions could be combined.

We started this journey in February 2021, and the goal was to have the tavern done by my cousins wedding in August of that same year. This started as a wedding gift to him and his bride, but has become so much more to me.

The story continues as we added Jeffrey + Stanley (our 14 ft and stand up BBQ Trailers)

In August of 2024, we started small: The Table at Tumbleweed Tavern provided charcuterie boards, and grazing tables. Now we have grown into a whole catering business, providing options from drop off to full service.

As a mama to 3 boys and a wife to a husband that protects our community, it is gives me the opportunity to step outside of my everyday duties and do something, I am equally as passionate about. You may even get the opportunity to see my family behind the scenes at various events.

What We Offer

Tumbleweed Tavern offers bar + catering packages along with add ons such as our beautiful dessert cart, hand crafted champagne wall, select vintage furniture, as well as additional satellite bars.

The Table at Tumbleweed Tavern provides multi level services for whatever you or your venues needs are. From drop off to full service catering which can include table settings, bussing throughout the evening, drink stations, full bar and even an adorable dessert cart.
